The Florida climate ditireiates the surface of a paver.  The sun causes fading and makes the paver brittle. The rain and constant humidity cause a pitting effect and washes away the sand that holds it all together. The sand loss causing the pavers to shift and move. Before long pavers are getting dips and waves. Sealing protects your investment. Sealing requires new sand be put in the joints to stabilize the joints to prevent movement and water erosion. The seal process locks the sand in and  protects the paver from sun and water damage along with added a beautiful shine. The  pigment in the pavers really can only be at its truest by sealing. 

Paver sealing with a commercial grade sealer is the only way to achieve the shine and prevent weeds, as well as protect your pavers from fading and shifting. Commercial grade sealers have at least 20% solids added to a water based Ureathane sealer. Commercial grade sealer provide a wet look because they bring out the true rich color of the paver by penatrating the porous top of the paver. The shine isn't just for looks, it provides the UV coating to protect your paver from fading and becoming pitted.
